Overview
Project Links (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a Chrome extension and website (getprojectlinks.com) that helps users save, organize, and open project-related links. We built it specifically to respect your privacy and reduce unnecessary data collection.
What data we handle
- Local project data (on your device): Projects, links, routines, and preferences are stored locally in your browser using
chrome.storage.local. We do not receive or collect this data on our servers. - Optional sharing data (via Firebase): When you choose to share a project, we upload only the project’s name and its links (titles + URLs) to Firebase to generate a share link. No personal identifiers are collected unless you include one voluntarily (e.g., “shared by” name).
- No tracking or analytics: We do not use advertising IDs, behavioral tracking, or analytics scripts in the extension. The website may collect minimal, privacy-friendly logs (e.g., server access logs) for reliability and security purposes.
Why we use this data
- To provide core features like saving, searching, and opening links.
- To generate share links when you explicitly choose to share a project.
- To maintain reliability and performance for the site and extension.
Where data is stored
- Your projects and links are stored only on your device using Chrome’s chrome.storage.local.
- Shared projects are stored securely in Firebase (Google Cloud), which may process data in the United States or other regions used by Firebase.
Data retention
- Local data: Remains on your device until you delete the extension or clear its storage manually.
- Shared projects: Stored in Firebase until you delete them or contact us to request deletion.
What we don’t do
- We do not sell or rent any personal data.
- We do not use data for unrelated purposes or advertising.
- We do not read or analyze the content of the web pages you visit — only the URLs you explicitly save.
Permissions (Chrome)
- storage: Save projects and links locally in your browser.
- tabs: Open saved links in new tabs and access current tab info when you choose “Save current tab.”
- bookmarks (optional): Import bookmarks into a project if you request it.
- contextMenus: Add right-click shortcuts for faster link saving.
- notifications: Only used for small in-extension toasts (no system or push notifications).
Children’s privacy
Project Links is not directed toward children under 13 years old, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices & control
- You can clear or remove your data anytime by deleting projects, clearing storage, or uninstalling the extension.
- For shared projects, you may delete them via the extension or contact us at support@trymonde.com.
Security
We use HTTPS, Firebase security rules, and reasonable safeguards to protect shared data. No system is entirely secure, but we work to maintain a high standard of safety and privacy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates will be posted at getprojectlinks.com/privacy and the “Last updated” date will change accordingly.
